A touchscreen-controlled media center for car onboard PCs that puts streaming music, playlists, and search at your fingertips. Built as a responsive, driver-friendly interface, this infotainment app lets users browse and play tracks using a simple, tap-driven experience optimized for in-vehicle use.
Developed in Flash (ActionScript 3) and completed in under three weeks, the project was designed for rapid prototyping without sacrificing polish. The lightweight Flash AS3 frontend delivers smooth animations and large, easy-to-read controls ideal for a touchscreen dashboard environment.
Integration was achieved by leveraging the existing Omnifone MusicStation web services. That integration provides secure access to catalog browsing, metadata, streaming, and user account features, so the media center can stream content and manage playlists without reimplementing backend systems.
The result is a compact, intuitive car media center for onboard PCs that demonstrates how a touchscreen UI and third-party web services can quickly create a full-featured in-car music experience.
